Tummy’s
Sometimes the stress can cause pups to get diarrhea
Do NOT rush your pup to a emergency hospital, there are much worse things they can pickup there.
We recommend a bland diet, rice and boiled chicken or Hamburger,
Small portions 3-4times per day..after 2days soak pup food and add a little to the rice mixture
If worming or antibiotics is suspected of causing diarrhea, adding a little bit of yogurt can help put the Good bacteria back into the digestive system
**Pineapple can help w/mushy poops but only give a small puppy
1 teaspoon per meal ...too much will make them constipated
**pineapple: antioxidant, and loaded with vitamins
**Sweet potato in 1/4 in slice is also great for sensitive tummies and/or when dogs have worms or mushy poops. Works very well for Diarreha
Bland Diet ,
Make up One cup Cooked oatmeal (make like normal)
Small meals 4-5times per day (about ½ cup each feeding)
1/2Cup Oatmeal
1tsp Pineapple,
1 fish oil tab (pierce and squirt out,for adults leave caplet in food, for puppies I don’t)
1tbls Plain (not low fat) Yogurt
Boiled Hamburger or Chicken Rinsed Well after boiling (handful to taste)
Add a little kibble after about 4feedings ,then a little more, until up to all kibble feeding again
This diet should be used for a couple of days at least to get stomach back on track
**Canned pumpkin ..I use this mostly for constipation....1 teaspoon for small puppy, 2 teaspoons for 8mos or older, easy on intestinal tract ..too much causes mushy poops!
NOTE: overfeeding a puppy or older dog can cause mushy poop
